    1. LMFAO! That was EXACTLY my first thought!
Who can recall being up early with whomever the cook was, and helping him / her w/ making breakfast for all by cooking the pancakes??!!
      They were the BEST :-)
      Ah yes, memories….

  1. Well, actually nice picture, but I’ll never understood the meaning of some feasting fridays. Nice boys making/eating food, snacks or whatever. It would look nicer with a nice background (outdoors or something),
or a picture with a meaning or some sort of art. All-though I wish him a nice meal.

    1. food is an integral part of life; we are given the opportunity to see boys in their natural habitat, enjoying food. what’s not to get

    1. Not that thick! And he’s not rotating the pan [assuming it was a crêpe]. And as nice as plain crêpes are, they’re much better with some kind of filling. :-) I don’t know why dewy thinks it’s “blueberry” ….. there’s no filling anywhere.

      1. 1st reason) The batter is much too thin for pancakes.
2nd reason) Just because he isn’t rotating the pan, doesn’t mean it’s not crêpes. That merely means he’s not doing it right.
3rd reason) The pan he is using is one made for crêpes {I Googled crêpes cooking pans, and that’s exactly what they looked like)

        My reasoning about the blueberry…
Well, the colour of the batter, didn’t appear to be the normal “cream” colour, but seems to have a somewhat coloured appearance. suggesting, perhaps, a berry of some kind?
Yes, it’s all quite speculative, and I did state “and they appear to be blueberry crêpes perhaps?” WITH the question mark!
And just because you don’t actually filling in the shots frame, doesn’t mean there isn’t any that might be out of view!!
But we will likely never know, AND it’s merely my observation that I THINK the batter might be flavoured with something…

        1. Oh, how juicy …….. :-)

“1st reason) The batter is much too thin for pancakes.”
…… No it isn’t. Many people accidentally/usually use too much milk (or water if it’s an “instant” batter mix) — to “stretch” the batter to make more pancakes.

“2nd reason) Just because he isn’t rotating the pan, doesn’t mean it’s not crêpes. That merely means he’s not doing it right.”
…… He’s not even attempting to tilt/rotate the pan to make crêpes. To make even decent crêpes, all recipes will tell you to immediately tilt/rotate the pan to spread out the batter as you drop it into the pan so it will cook faster (and be larger for any type of filling).

“3rd reason) The pan he is using is one made for crêpes {I Googled crêpes cooking pans, and that’s exactly what they looked like)”
…… You haven’t been shopping for the last 10 years, have you? That size/type of pan is so common as either the middle or largest of a set of pans (usually 3). Yes, it CAN be used for crêpes, but ALSO for pancakes, eggs or even bacon/sausages/ham (and that’s just the breakfast options). It can be used for anything.

“Well, the colour of the batter, didn’t appear to be the normal “cream” colour, but seems to have a somewhat coloured appearance. suggesting, perhaps, a berry of some kind?”
…… That color could be (if you notice to the left area of the batter) because it’s cooking (?) (it does tend to get darker as it cooks). Also, if the batter (flour) has more [whole] wheat or buckwheat (or other types of flours — very common for pancakes, but not so much for crêpes) then it would appear similar to that color. Plus, the batter “bubbles” as it cooks to give a slightly darker appearance.
…… No, there’s NO filling in that batter at all. Or are you expecting jesus to put the blueberries into the “crêpes?” A new scripture? Making crêpes out of pancakes, maybe?
“And just because you don’t actually filling in the shots frame, doesn’t mean there isn’t any that might be out of view!!”
….. Please, stop grasping at straws. You really should get out of the kitchen, it’s way too hot for you to handle.

  2. Very cute and pleasant face. Kid appears to know what he is doing. Looks like a professional kitchen.

    1. Like S. said above, I think he is making crepes and I will say once more the kid is cute.

      1. yes, and they appear to be blueberry crêpes perhaps?
maybe not so much a professional kitchen, but more likely just a hi quality gas stove in a home kitchen.
and Bruce I’ll third that and say he IS quite cute indeed!!
oh BTW, Josh, I for one appreciate the “feasting fridays” series!

  3. When one invites another for breakfast it usually means after spending the night….we can dream can’t we?

      1. My boyfriend and I were gun crazy at that age and had many sleepovers to include breakfast together.

  4. Here in Holland we call them: pannekoeken! We even have a tiny version of them and call those: poffertjes!
If you come over I make you some.

  5. The frying pan is too cold to make pancakes (or crêpes, if you want).
The boy, on the contrary, is quite hot.

  6. He reminds me of a boy (can’t recall the name of the boy or the tv show) that was on a show based in Hawaii. The same type of windblown hair look. The show was many, many years ago though so probably not an old picture from the show.

Very cute and he can cook for me anytime. I love pancakes or crepes.

    1. @ Darius – “The Byrds of Paradise” – 1993/94
Cast: [Timothy Busfield, Seth Green, Arlo Guthrie, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Elizabeth Lindsey], and the boy you are referring to: Ryan O’Donohue

      1. Yep, that was him. It’s weird how the mind makes these associations from years gone by.

        1. @ Darius – You peaked my curiosity, so I did a search of TV shows based in Hawaii, and voilà!
          I found it! {now to watch them!}

  7. Everytime I see the pic; I tend to think that I’ve seen the face somewhere before… and it’s dark eyes.

  8. The down cast eye lashes, quiet sensuous lips and unkept hair certainly gives this boy a sweet and familier good morning look. I’d love to sit at the table and just watch.
