I’ve watched some of it, and it’s adorable. He explores just as I would have, I think, but acts out movie parts that I would not have.

I saw this was posted earlier, but I didn’t get the chance to watch it till now. And yes, Jules Benchetrit (11-year-old son of the filmmaker) is sweet and romantic.

Does anyone know the piece of music at the very start? Is it original or pre-existing? It seems Mozart-esque, although it’s almost too dark for him. And there’s an aspect of Beethoven in it, but the string composition doesn’t seem to fit for him.

The music is an excerpt from the beginning of Beethoven’s “Coriolan” Ouverture. The play is about the Roman general Coriolanus, and the music is thought to dramatize the protagonist’s personality.

People who freak out about this boys age, especially in this film, are simply reacting to some deep down fear they have about their own definitions of sensual and sexual and so on. This is a beautiful boy in a beautiful film — there is no sex involved here — why fear such a wonderful thing?

This film was very well acted by a beautiful boy. It is not the film people will fear but some unwanted aspect of themselves they may project onto it and feel a need to attack it in order to distance themselves from their disturbing feelings. Whereas in reality, there were no lewd comments or any mention of sex in the script, no nudity unless one considers sitting on the commode to be in poor taste and nothing was exposed. This was an innocent and romantic film. Good art should be provokative.

The boy is cute. The little of his body that is viewable is desireable to me. Not too slim, robust, and rather dark skin. Hot. I like his moving on the bed, that communicates to me a sense of something angelically alive and warm, all to be loved soon. Beautiful.
