It’s only Free Speech if it’s Christian Speech?

It’s hard not to feel baffled and a bit helpless when you look at the ignorance and hypocrisy plowing its way through American schools lately. On one hand you have people trying to ban anti-bullying lessons because they’re “gay propaganda”, states which prohibit the mere discussion of homosexuality and contraception in class, teachers telling kids god made all life on earth and evolution is bollocks and even “patriots” attempting to get rid of the passages about slavery in American history text books.
On the other hand a Christian missionary band founded by someone who said homosexuals should be executed gets paid $1,500 to speak in front of a whole high school; telling girls they should stay subservient to their future husbands and that they “will have mud on their wedding dresses if they don’t marry as a virgin”. The kids also got told to do all they can to make abortions illegal and that gays die at the age of 42 because of their nasty lifestyle as you can see in the bit below:
Moral Police in Iraq hunting Queers & Emos

A recent rash of killings of people perceived to be gay or emo in Iraq has stoked fear within those communities, which worry the government might be unwilling or unable to protect them. At least 14 such victims were killed in Baghdad in the past three weeks, according to a senior Interior Ministry official, who was not authorized to talk to the media.
Rights activists claim the number is actually much higher, with some suggesting dozens or more than 100 have been killed since February. The killings appear to target people perceived to be gay, or emo — shorthand in Iraq for an in-your-face style of Western dress that favours tight clothes, long hair and the colour black.
The murders come less than a month after the Interior Ministry released a statement on the emo phenomenon, blasting it as Satanic. It said the movement, which it described as young people wearing "strange and tight clothes with graphics such as skulls," is being monitored by authorities with the goal of eliminating it. To that end, community or "moral police" will be allowed to enter schools in the capital, the statement read.
