The Philippines has, and has had for a long time, the most wide open gay sex scene and for all ages that anyone could possibly imagine. I think the flap over the health issue is to keep the Catholic Church happy. It’s still Asia’s only majority Christian nation although South Korea is quickly catching up.

Yes its a desperate maneuver i think, to try and lessen the opposition against the bill. As said in the article the bill also mandates sex ed and funding for contraceptives, and we need those quite badly, teen pregnancy, over population and an all time high in new STD infection rates. I guess they’re doing away with the other controversial stuff so they can ensure that the main goal of the bill can be accomplished and passed instead of being blocked again(its been blocked for almost 2 decades now by the catholic church).
Besides most people with a heart won’t really discriminate against gays here and if the people rallying actually realized what the bill is and understood whats in it they wouldn’t be out making such fools of themselves. Its just the church stirring up shit again and playing up ignorant people for their own gain.

Filipinos are a very interesting people. I believe you can find a can of Spam in every kitchen and a multilevel marketing plan under their bed. Yet they are often highly intelligent, pro-higher education and comfortable with anything technological. They are a very resourceful, highly adaptable people and often speak multiple languages. The Phillippines has one of the highest literacy rates on the planet despite a basically third world status and they have a very flexible and mature attitude concerning sexual orientation.
I always thought it strange how they can be so controlled by the Catholic Church.

Sometimes, within the same family, the have to speak multiple languages. Today’s children know and speak as much English as they do Tagalog (their national language). One of the parents and/or what would either be their Aunts or Uncles may only speak Bicol or Cebuano or Pangasinan. And then, there’s Ilocano (Ferdinand Marcos’ language) which a large portion of Tagalogs can be mixed with genetically. And, let’s not forget their own version of Pidgen which is whatever native language they speak laced with English (or similar).

Penboy, you left out the dialect spoken in Pagsanjan which has the same tonal qualities as someone speaking with a dick in their mouth. Maybe the most beautiful and poetic of all languages, but sadly, now extinct.

Yes they speak in word salad. They can throw all their native dialects into a single paragraph along with som Spanish for good measure while young Americans are regressing to monosyllabic grunts.

My reply was to Penboy but I did miss the humor. There is over 1000 dialects in the Phillippines so it would be easy to put one over on me. Fat Checker’s description was suspect and humorous.

My first thought on reading the article was that ‘this is stamped Catholic Church’.
The behaviour of the scumbags in Rome is beyond detestable. They are, have been, and always will be moral criminals. They are, have been, and always will be infested with statutory criminals. How I think of them now and their behaviour throughout all time cannot easily be printed. By their own mouthfuls of the spiteful shit they spout they are all going to Hell for sure.
Loyalty is an aspect of the Filipino character that unfortunately works against Filipino society in this case.

And had he gone to a hospital, he would have been asigned one. Anyway, his original “shocked” surgeon should lose his license.

Just because media insists on calling white terrorists “gunmen” instead of terrorists they’re less of a terrorist.
Not to mention that almost all of the big crimes in history were committed by white men, most of them Christians: the witch hunts, the crusades, the inquisitions, the slave trade, the holocaust, the Indian genocide and so on.

Did you watch the news on the days following? On ABC,they interviewed kids on how they felt about it.One young Muslim girl,and remember this was just a few days after the attack,this young girl was asked how she felt about the men who did this, and she said she wondered what the U.S must have done to make them feel the need to do this.Where do you think her ideas came from? Mom and dad perhaps? This girl isn’t an isolated case either.Muslim adults,during the same time, never came out in condemnation of the terrorists actions, but voiced the same opinion that this girl did(an opinion no doubt put into her mind by her parents). Any Muslim who even said the words “it was wrong” always came back with a “but”. Anytime “but” is used, it’s not a real condemnation…..it’s an attempt to excuse or even justify.
So the answer for discrimination against blacks is to discriminate against whites? If a white person feels they are being discriminated against, then they are. To dismiss how someone feels based on their race ,is racist.By the way, there is no longer discrimination against blacks.There may be racism,but that’s not the same as discrimination.Discrimination is an action, racism is a feeling.if someone doesn’t like someone based on their race or other superficial reason, that’s their business.No one has the right to tell someone else how to feel about someone else.Anyway, how are blacks suppressed and discriminated against?This isn’t the 1920′s.We’re in the 21st century.Blacks have the same(or even more) opportunities as anyone else. Affirmative action puts blacks ahead of whites.I hate writing long posts, so I’ll end with this: If one group can wear pride shirts,then everyone else should be able to.To say 1 group can’t because of their race is racist.

I’m a liberal, so not all liberals ignore the racial double standard.Also, many who go under the name liberal are not liberal at all.A liberal should believe in equality and human rights.Racial double standards work against equality and human rights.There should be no discrimination,and favoring one race over another as with affirmative action is discriminatory. I’d say there’s a difference between white nationalism and white supremacy.The two are often confused, and some who call themselves nationalists would be better referred to as supremacists.While all supremacists are nationalists, most nationalists are not supremacist.Just like while all KKK may be white,the majority of whites are not with the KKK. It’s important to make that distinction.

I don’t have a Facebook account and I’m not interested in the least in getting one. I had a facebook account, then a few years ago decided it was stupid and useless and I started getting tons of junk email because of it, so I ATTEMPTED to delete it. It took a long time to get rid of it, although in reality I know it actually is still there, lurking in the background. Even now, about once a month those assholes send me junk mail telling me I should come back. Watching their stock prices fall puts a smile on my face.
