Regarding the boy who was beaten to death in Iowa:
I wonder whether it is such a good idea to be telling boys that things are honky dory regarding the acceptance of gays in the USA? These “It Gets Better” advertising campaigns could in fact be putting gay kids in danger by giving them a false sense of acceptance. Even in gay ghettos such as Christopher Street (New York) gays are regularly assaulted. I think a far better message to send is that letting others know you are gay can be a very dangerous thing and that it could lead to your death. America is a very dangerous place for gays. Even Harvey Milk was assassinated in the gayest city in America, San Francisco and by another city official. That tells you a lot in itself.

Mother, you have a point there – in South Africa we are protected by our constitution regarding equality and marraige ( for example). But this is not easy to enforce. Many gay men and woman ( and kids) stay in the closet, beacuse reality is that they will be victimized – fact! In the US there are no protective constitution ( dark ages) . Although the “It gets better” initiative is fantastic, it is not very practical in most cases.

Re: right wing arguement, look up NPR for 8/24/11. This is really disturbing if not actually deluded. They talk about the New Apostolollic Reformation (NAR) movement among the religious right to prepare for “the end of times.” The leaders refer to themselves as apostles and profits of the movement and gifted by God.

I’ve met several gay people who I thought could very well have been “controlled by demonic spirits”. It all depends on how you define your terms, your point of view and perspective. Of course, I also have to say that I have met many straight people who likewise appeared to be controlled by “demonic spirits”. Maybe it’s a toss up of who wins this contest for demonic possession. There are lots of contenders for this accolade. Some of them are right on this forum who have also said they like to carry guns which makes their comments even more scary.

Jon Stewart did it again …. he pointed it out with such incredible subtlety. :-) After all, you need to be a lot more aggressive to get the super-rich to actually hear/listen to anything.
This video took 3:15 min. to load on my system. But Jon Stewart is worth it. So, just be patient and wait for it.

Easy. Get your wealth through inheritance and never work for anything and you’ll be just like them ….. always bitching about the government taking something you didn’t actually work for yourself to help the entire country.
Then you hear that they really did “work for it.”
Sorry, no …… they get it on the backs of the working class — those actually sweating on the job and not in the upper floor air-conditioned offices with desks half the size of the office with no actual signs of work on it.

Can’t you stupid f*ks see that its not the poor, or the rich. Its the government that want all your money and they’re glad to blind side you with these “class wars” to get it. If they have they’re way and I’m sure they will. All classes except “government” will loose. So sit back and relax as most of you will and enjoy watching the US government take control.
