Shota!

Some people just want to see the world burn. Even if it’s just to rebuild it on the ashes of its blatant injustice. One of these people who always seem to be out to make trouble, who just can’t stay away from controversy is indie publisher Karl Andersson. Not too long ago he pointed out the hypocrisy & utter hysteria within the modern queer culture when it comes to teenage boys with his infamous Destroyer Journal (and using Comic Sans in its blog’s header wasn’t the only controversy about it ;)

But now that Destroyer is (queer) history, Karl couldn’t keep his feet still. In-between several trips to Japan he found the time to not only bring something to Europe’s bookshops that was hardly ever seen there before, he’s also making a point in a political & cultural debate that is dividing (not only) Europe’s gay culture, art scene and literary circles. It’s the debate about not only a legal issue but a matter that will be a crucial part in forming our future; a matter of free speech & common sense.

He is publishing what is, as far as I can tell, the first commercially distributed shota manga in Europe: Entartete Shota 01 by Japanese manga artist Tsukumo Gou, translated to English by Karl and, unlike in Japan, uncensored. As he explains on his blog “Shotacon (shota) comics are drawings of young boys having sex. The genre is popular among male as well as female readers in Japan, and the artists too are of both sexes. The girl equivalent is called lolicon (loli).”

Even though no real boys are involved at any point in the the production of shota manga, they are illegal in many countries. The Supreme Court of Sweden, Karl’s homeland, is about to decide if these laws, which you could just as well use to ban thousands of years old depictions of boy sex in classical art, are constitutional. A decision that could become a precedent for the world.

If you want to become a part of this little piece of queer history you can order one of the 500 available issues at I <3 Mags or win one right here. Just leave a comment under this post and let us know if you think shota should be legal or not and explain why you think so. We’ll pick a random winner tomorrow!

  1. I think it should be legal, for as mentionned, there already exists a ton of boy nudity or boy sex in claissical art. stories are cute and lovely I really don’t see what’s wrong with these cartoons :/

    1. It’s sent from within the EU so there shouldn’t be any customs involved in your case.

  2. Does anyone have any idea which company name / product name will appear on the credit card invoice?

On a side note; Josh you still content about privatVPN ?

    1. If anyone is still curious; they ship using high quality (non-see-through) envelopes and parcels. The sender does not say Ilovemags. The credit card invoice however does say I LOVE MAGS:COM

  3. really curious how this will pan out, honestly i really have no idea whether this should be legal or not.

so far I’d have a look at it

    1. I wonder why you even read Milkboys. You sound even more repressive than the Puritans.

      1. Repressive? He took a neutral stance.

I personally for both the reasons in the milkboys article and some more think it should be legal.

  4. oh i just love shotacon and lolicon, but i’m always a little sad that i can’t always find ones that are translated. As to the “controversy” of it being legal i believe everything should be legal, including drugs and firearms and in this case…shota – i believe people can think for themselves if they want to buy it or not (maybe i have too much faith in Humanity?!)
The only bans i would agree to, are those for firearms – for example, you need to be X years old to buy/use them.
Coming back to shotacon – whoever doesn’t feel comfortable with reading/looking at such images they shouldn’t buy it.
And the ban in America/other places for this kind of…images.. it utterly ridiculous.

  5. Should clearly be legal. There are no real children involved, so there is no reason to restrict freedom.

  6. Legal – as in where? I know the united states would never allow this – not legally in the book stores. While it is only a cartoon, it might give people ideas to try in real life.

Okay now that I have said that crap – the reality is – people are going to do what they are going to do regardless of what is out there in print.

What I find amusing about this type of anime is that the boy looks to be young, as in preteen but always is endowed like a hung man. And I have noticed that the boy always seems to cum which makes me wonder where the disconnect truly is. So if someone is to believe that this could cause something bad to happen to boys? No boys were harmed in the making of this comic.

If it’s not your thing, don’t look. But remember the last car accident you drove by on the highway? See I thought so…

    1. “it might give people ideas to try in real life”

      Umm.. No.
That’s like saying violent movies or videogames promote real violence.

        1. It’s just that there are no facts whatsoever to support such a claim. Quite the opposite:

  7. I love it they also have cartoons of it to I have seen tones of it and I would love to have more of it please sign me up for that great magna

  8. Actually the USA is one of the few places where Shota is (currently) legal. This was tested (it was a 1st amendment thing). Shota is illegal in much of Europe including the UK. Who can blame them – dreadful things happen to those poor little pretend children. Oh wait…

  9. Well talk about funny timing because it was just this morning that I read on the front page of an Irish paper that a man has just been charged with possesion of child porn. Even though 24 of 27 images were Hentai (Japanese animated virtual and drawn images of boys of a young nature “no actual children featured in them”)

However the man wasn’t completely innocent he did have images of pre-pubescent girls and was punished accordingly within the law and rightly so. Legality wise, the main big issue in the UK (Which by default, then extends to Ireland) is the subject of sexual violence in manga like this (Hentai, Shotacon etc.). Sexual violence, if done so in even a slightly titillating way is a major no no as far as they are concerned. Many anime which cover this topic has been cut to ribbons/outright refused a classification. (Therefore illegal to distribute)

But the fact that he was charged over the drawings as well is a bit of a stretch of the law in my opinion. I admit it’s open to interpretation what is considered art and what is considered pornography but I fail to see how it harms anyone and would fall under the relm of privacy (a right in most countries). I’d be interested to see how this plays out in Sweden, which is a fairly liberal country within the cold conservatism of Europe and how it affects other countries laws on the matter.

Take a look at Fred Patten’s insightful overview of this topic:

    http://www.awn.com/mag/issue3.4/3.4pages/3.4patten.html

It’s somewhat old (1998), but still relevant.

  10. Of course it should be legal and I believe everyone visiting this website has the same opinion about this. I just would not get why it should not be legal. It is fictional and no one will be hurt by the stories. If people don’t like reading these mangas they just should not do so. And I think that it should be legal to get the gay mangas just the way it is legal to get similar things for straights. And if people would really have that much problems about the content they should firt think about censoring it and not making it illegal because I think that would be a big step on the right path already.

  11. Legal or illegal depends on who you ask. What’s important is that it will remain legal until some paranoid parent finds this in the hands of their minor child.

Then people will go all church like on this and it will get banned and we will still be able to leach it from the depths of the internet (as we do with most others things).

The only one who will loose in the end is the company that provides these magazines. People will ignore this until it gets in their face, then all hell will break loose (something like those anti bullying campaigns).

So can i have a free copy now, even though you all hate me for speaking my mind?

  12. The hypocrisy with Shotacon is unbelievable. Governments want you to go to jail for owning it, yet Takashi Murakami’s shota statue My Lonesome Cowboy was displayed in galleries and museums around the world, hailed as a masterpiece by critics, before Sotheby’s sold it at auction for $15 million.

MLC is a life-sized statue of a naked young boy jerking off and cumming, with his semen shooting up and looping around his head like a lariat. I kid you not.

Just the thought of snooty art critics and rich customers discussing the meaning behind Murakami’s boy jizz fest makes me chuckle.

I guess if it’s considered art, they won’t come after you.

  13. It amuses me when folk from other countries say the US wouldn’t allow something when it’s readily available and completely legal in many parts of the US. Laws regarding porn sold in stores are determined by individual states and localities, not the federal government. In some places you can’t even buy a Playboy and in others the only limit is snuff films and actual pictures of children in sexual situations.

Even the Federal law under which Christopher Handley was prosecuted (the Protection Act) depends on what a person’s local community would consider obscene to determine whether or not a work is legal. Personally, I’d like to see the Protection Act brought to the Supreme Court as well since the way it’s written leaves too much subjectivity to the question of whether something’s legal (in my opinion, anyway).

  14. It should definitely be legal. As it stands, it’s infringing on free speech. Who is hurt by a drawing?

Got a bit of a strong opinion on this one, after nearly going to jail for it once when I was young and stupid. As it was I had to pay a 500 dollar fine for a customs violation. It was only because of a very understanding police officer in charge of the case that I didn’t have to face possession charges and a criminal record.

  15. Legally, I believe people have a right to choose for themselves as long as that choice does not harm another.

However, I can see where people might say, “If you allow this, then there will be pedophiles running everywhere!”

To which you can say, there have been pedophiles before shota existed. There’s no link there.

Also, as with video games, just because you may partake in the fictional side, does not mean you’re going to go on a rampage somewhere. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWr4htYp9dM

Some may say we need to keep it illegal because it’s immoral, but kids have sex all the time, and it has been going on for thousands of years. 1000+ years ago it’s not uncommon for some 16+ male to marry a 12 year old. Unless they also think it’s immoral because it depicts homosexual acts, but that’s just their gut reaction to seeing it. Just because someone might be disgusted by it does not mean it’s immoral.

So, with those brief points above, yes, I do think it should be legal.

  16. In my opinion it should be legally, like every part of culture. And like I see it it will not be some reason to grow pedophile, rather the opposite, it will give more information and raise awareness of it in society.

  17. Art & creativity should florish where ever it leads, I saw a manga exhibition in Manchester, is was very inspiring!

  18. I’m a huge anime fan and love the manga culture. I go to few anime cons a year. I think it should be legal because it’s a big part of the anime culture and it 100% fiction. Anyway theres my 2 cents

  19. 1000+ years ago, um…about 150-200 years ago it wasn’t uncommon for relations/marriage between people as young as 8-10 years old in many parts of the world, this would include sex with reports of the young wife complaining the marriage hadn’t been consummated soon enough.

I’m all for the protection of children from UNWANTED sexual advances, but first we must define child, in this hyper-legislated world a child is a child until 16, 18, 21, it’s all down to the whims and fancies of the law of the land.

When we look back to older, wiser times, they see pubescence as a change from child to adult, a between phase for learning about becoming an adult. Today we think every “child” is an untainted angel until the legal age at which point they can (by law) become as monsterous as the rest of us (and a pedophile by their 18th birthday). We act as if children from 11 to 16/18 should be wrapped up and protected from the world then throw them headlong into it at the age of 18 with no idea or instruction about the responsibilities being an “adult” entails (just a lot of theoretical knowledge/conditioning from school).

It is this bi-polar idea of childhood/adulthood rather than a gradual continuum from one to the next, perpetuated by our seperation from and indifference to nature and the natural world (including the very obvious natural facts of puberty) that is a great part of the (over)socialised sickness in this world today.

    1. THAT….WAS…..BEAUTIFUL…hn !!!

Hit’s the old proverbial nail on the head, right there sir… couldnt have said it better myself.

      Legislate moreality… Fucking stupid..

  20. Well i really think it should be legal. It’s fun to read, and it is sexy at the same time, plus I think that it could decrease a bit online pedophilia because people would have ”other” things to read/watch/masturbate to.

  21. Il n’y a aucune raison que ce type de matériel soit illégal. Sinon, combien de chefs-d’oeuvre la censure galopante enverra-t-elle à la casse?

  22. should be legal as it does not harm anyone period and it’s fictional art. I love anime and been watching it for years. I do hope to score a copy as i’m out of work.

So what?

  24. There are way too many silly arguments used, not jut for things like this, but many forms of art and literature. When they are stood up to logic, they never pan out. Of course, this never stops laws being passed against them. Too bad fanatics ignore logic.

Saying this leads to children being abused is about as silly as saying that giving us gays the right to marry is going to lead to my neighbor marrying his goat.

  25. so … tell that to the Art… for Davinci , Miguelangelo and Dali! …
You can’t ban Art! …God damn!
This kind of manga stories are happen naturaly in our world by the way… but,,, why if not?…
    creativity is not allow?

  26. It’s all art to me. And if I recall correctly, shota is mostly teenage love stories. To do deny that they actually exist is silly, and to ban fictional depictions of such is equally ridiculous. It’s not like it’s a genre built on 45 year old dudes hate-banging toddlers or something, its just teens doing what teens do – awkward sexual experimentation.

  27. Censorship make you blind for the truth. The truth is that there is nothing wrong with consensual sex and/or pornography. The thing that is really wrong is a nonconsensual sex which is a form of violence.
Western society cannot see the difference between sex and violence, that is why we have laws that are not based on the truth that there is nothing wrong with consensual sex. The laws should only focus on the facts of consensuality or non-consensuality, NOT ON THE SEX ITSELF which is neather good nor bad.

  28. I have looked at Shotacon on a few occasions. I find it quite attractive to say the least. But there is no reason it should become illegal. I can understand the logic behind wanting it to be. Law makers are worried that people will copy these actions with real children etc. But that fact is that no one is getting hurt from these images. There are no real children involved. There is nothing encouraging the use of real children. They are just cartoon images. If someone was messed up enough to want to have sexual relations with a child they would do so without the encouragement of these drawing. This is art. Art is not something that should be censored or banned. The very thought of that brings communism to mind. A government should be there to assist and protect the people. Not control their lives. To ban this is an infringement on peoples freedom. Freedom stops when it affects the rights of others and these drawings don’t infringe on anyone’s rights in anyway!

  29. I do not think shota should be illegal as it’s art form. Also isnt it only illegal if it has real minors in it ? Its all fiction… You think goverment would use there time better and try fix debit crises rather than worry about cartoon porn.

  30. There are more realistic, gruesome, video all over TV and in movies. Yet a cartoon showing a safe, natural body function is illegal?

  31. When I was taken to a psychiatrist after my Christian parents found shota on my computer, I pointed out the wording in the child porn law that the depictions must be “indistinguishable” from a real child, so I avoided any legal problems they were threatening to bring on me. Of course, that was easy part compared to phoning my way through the therapy that was supposed to “help” me and focus my thoughts on other things.

  32. The question as to whether or not it should be legal or illegal baffles me. It’s offensive, really. We’ve really life movies which depict people dealing drugs and killing each other and torturing one another and they are legal with respective ratings. Shota has a rating of 18+ (21+ in some states I think) and that is just fine. It harms NO ONE and the only people who get offended are people who are looking for a cause to hate at. And actually, shota is, in my opinion, /helpful/ to our country. I’m 18 years old and I don’t understand why so many people don’t look at it in any positive way. I assume that people are afraid that people will look at shota and become pedophiles or something like that. However, pedophiles are born pedophiles, like gay people are born gay, and straight people are born straight, and everything in between. I support pedophiles because it sucks that they have those thoughts, BUT I 100% with every fiber of my being feel they should be locked away in jail should they break our laws by violating children. Understand my position here, I feel sorry for pedophiles IF they do NOT act on their impulses. Shota is a way for pedophiles to get some release, I feel.

Moving out of the pedophilia aspect of it, it harms zero people and making it illegal would take away freedom of speech.

So no, I don’t think it should be made illegal :x

  33. Boy shota should be legal, but I have seen shota, that was out of limits and this kind of shota doesn’t have to be legal. The reason is, that we should have the freedom to see sexual scenes, that happen in real life.

  34. You’re 18, if you have sex with someone 16 or 17, in some states of the US that makes you a pedophile….that’s the biggest nonsense I’ve ever heard.

Can you be a pedophile at 18?, maybe 21 or 24?…. I think you’ll find the word pedophile has become diluted when used to deal with people who have sex with the underage by law (statutory rape). Pubescent children or adolescents are attractive to everyone to an extent, because that’s what nature intended, for us to have sex/reproduce when we are most virile. Society has banned/demonised any attraction to those under the age of consent, even though you can be a pedophile in the US, but not be deemed one in France (by having sex with a 16yr old) or be a pedophile in France but not in Spain (by having sex with a 14yr old).

Pedophiles are those attracted to PRE-PUBESCENT children, not those attracted to pubescent adolescents (which by nature is completely normal, but socially deemed evil).

The same non-thinking nonsense you spout about supposed pedophiles is the same hate that was angled at the gays 20 or 30 years ago, sexual deviants with no morality, when in fact it’s the religious non-thinkers and social non-thinkers who are the deviants. They have chosen their social laws above the laws of nature, in 100 years people will (hopefully) look back and laugh at how silly and backward we were, just as we laugh at those from 100 years previous.

At 18 you are the future, please don’t make the same mistakes as you parents and theirs before by clinging on to socially approved notions, rather than seeking truth through logic and understanding.

  35. There is nothing bad in shota,. The fact are for example:
-Drugs are illegal: there is more and more that take grugs.
    -pedophily : same thing
-shotacon, lolicon: its the same things again in a lot of country.
Shotacon do no harm to real childs so there is no reason to make it illegal. Its mainly because religion is still too much in the governements. It deprive people from logics. Shotacon, lolicon may even be a way to prevent childs abuse, who know

  36. It’s not the government’s responsibility as to what we’re allowed to think about, or draw on a paper. Or what I eat or put in my body, or who I can fuck for what purpose.

  37. There are lots of good, thoughtful comments here. The best are #30 by hn and #40 by Gerald.

  38. The shota should be legal because the representation of any human relationship should not be bound by any laws in force because human relations are likely to be intimate but public as is the case, among many others (the really ridiculous is that they want to legalize representations that are this reason, representations of reality, not reality itself: this is what I call “the scandal in the picture”).

Legislate intimate human relationships is an intrusion into the privacy of human beings by other human beings that they reserve the right to intervene in them and even censurararlas or, worse, banned. All these publications persecution comes from social prejudice, cultural, political, religious and class (ie, bourgeois). Are attempting more against the individual and collective freedom.

These publications represent for many people discriminated against and marginalized by their intimate erotic preferences graphically the embodiment of their dreams and desires. We not only want to end with the fact until the dreams! They believe that preventing young people read these publications the “normalized”. Vain effort, because the dream, desire, will always be there and, even better, sometimes they will be lucky to do with young people like themselves discriminated against and marginalized free and made publicly but intimately.

  39. shota is fun
    and its just cartoons.
BUT…. too many times, mixed in with the regular shota, you’ll run into BDSM themes.
i am DEEPLY offended by art/cartoons of children being raped, bound, crying, molested, beaten and even tortured. It makes me so angry i wish i could contact the “artist” and tell him what i think of him… along with anyone who get a sexual thrill out of seeing children being harmed.
i know its only cartoons and fantasy, and i’m not in favor of censorship. Nor do i want the “thought police” running the world.
But I just cant fathom associating BDSM with children, even if its just cartoons

      1. I share this view & consider there to be a GIANT chasm between art / manga / anime / shota / loli that depict natural inner or inter-generational acts of intimacy and ANYTHING that depicts or describes the humiliation, bondage, torment, torture or even emotional harming & bullying of ANY person but especially young adults and VERY especially young male humans… just my thing about protecting boys, i suppose, but that doesn’t mean I could support these works should being De Facto banned – don’t know what the middle ground would be but censorship is troubling ground for any society that aspires [or declares] for freedom.
That being said, I believe that Shota, in the style that this associated item seems to present SHOULD be legal to purchase and own, for viewing by like minded individuals in a safe, sane, consensual enviroment

        1. You and Rosco seem unaware that Tsukomo Gou’s works are FULL of the very violence and brutality that you both rightly abhor.

(Tsukomo Gou is the artis whose work is at the center of this story.)

  40. Shota should be legal, it’s way better than real child porn…
I think actual pedophiles can suppress their feelings, with cartoons/virtual reality… preventing real boys/girls being hurt/abused
Just like any other person who can release themselves looking at porn vids or mags or even games

  41. Shota and loli should be legal for all people. I think that if it consensual then there should be no problem.

      1. a cartoon cannot consent to it’s depiction in a sexual act, especially an underage cartoon that does not fully understand the concept of sex, therefore depicting an underage cartoon in a sexual act it cannot consent to is blatant child abuse and those that commit this abuse should be held accountable by law.

  42. Legal. I agree with the “no victim, no crime” description, and I’ll add that EVERYONE is guilty of thought crime.

  43. I don’t get it,
I think it’s already hard to guess the age of real people.
How is the age of a cartoon even calculated then ?
As long as no one gets hurt, they should leave people alone!
    Leave one for me!

  44. Of course this should be allowed! We can’t allow the “thought-Police” to control everything. I am really Proud for the “provacatour” Karl for pushing this…. good on him! Resistance!

  45. Drawn erotica should be free for all to see. Just like the old greek and japanese erotica art.

  46. I think it should, but I’m not interested in winning one (For one thing, I have no where safe to put it), so I won’t bother explaining.

In fact, the main reason I decided to post was to say…

    I love Tsukumo Gou ^_^.

  47. i think it should be legal since it isnt hurting anyone
and most likely is giving people an alternative to more illegal rl material dat is already in circulation or has to be made.
    plus its just art

  48. Well, i got honry and bought it! :P
And that reminden me of /watch?v=0i9M6L2iKMY

Thank you for the tip btw, always loved Destroyer ;)

  49. OMG. i love this comic, i have a big collection of this genere, but it would be so interesting have this book in my list. bye

  50. I’d order a copy, but that would probably be a bad idea given the state in which I live.

  51. I just ordered a copy. I honestly don’t think it’ll be a problem. I have ordered (superhero) comic books from overseas before, I don’t think this will be any different. Art is art after all. haha. And once more, I doubt It’ll be searched. It’s being sent in a document mailer. I’ll let you all know how it goes! -Fl.

  52. Hm, for me it’s some kind of art, and just another form of pornography =) Though, if manga, then teen is barely an acceptable age. there shouldnt be younger boys :s

  53. adult classic comics Cherry, Vampyres Kiss, Faust, all contain engorged genitalia, undead semen eaters, violent torture and murder fueled sex,all available clearly labeled adult, mappelthorpe madness, piss Christ, everybody gets offended, artists get famous/ infamous, free speech is supposed to be exactly that, no real people killed, nobody is hurt, a painting or illustration, cant influence behavior,(maybe masturbari) De Sades writings are considered to be literary classics, way worse then porn ,even called evil.

  54. @ #80 – i agree that this is most probably safe since it’s moving in a document mailer, etc.
would be curious as to what you see on mailer / charge slip / customs delay, etc. + where you are receiving… mine would be going to Texas, so it’s hard to say since we’ve got everything from Buddhas to Buddhas to an ex-President or 2 to Hard Core FREAK populations in this State… the Capitol being a real Nest of Weirdness.

    “Legalize It” – Bob Marley
“Ugly old men, scared of young tit & dick” – Lou Reed

    PEAXE !

ps – as to the Handley case that has been cited; “The Animal Sex Anthology” !?! really… ewwwwww… no thank you

  55. @83 I’ am a bit nervous, but I think it’ll turn out okay. haha. Texas huh? I’m on the Florida panhandle

    1. Yeah, you said it – I visit Pensacola twice a year… interesting place and the Eye Candy in Summer !

Success! on your order, I’m gonna place mine after May Day

      Peaxe

ps – the Handley case materials are even scarier on second glance; “The Animal Sex Anthology” was…

      wait for it

… Volume Three. triple Ewwwwwww >.< for some reason "That Which Has Been Seen Can NOT be Un-Seen" fits

the mind shudders at the prospect of an ASA boxed set… would it be furry ? leather bound ?

    1. Excellent !

Just ordered + noticed that this is Volume One, here’s hoping sales go well enough to merit Volumes Two, et al

  56. received in excellent order in excellent time in nice plain envelope… just another letter from “Mr. Andersen”… yay !
seems to be very nicely done and [Bonus!] printed in “Native Manga” style (right to left & such]
    Many Thanks Karl !

  57. just as follow up – The content is exceptional and the printing & binding is what I would expect from a tiny run like this. One quibble is that while the dialog is completely translated, the “expressives”[?] are not translated at all [think like the "Bang", "Pow" and "Splat" in early Batman fight scenes] and this not only leaves a portion in Japanese, but cheats the overall impact & flavor of this excellent gay comic.
That said, I would probably buy another one just to folow the continuing adventures of Shin-Chan & friend ;)

  58. I think the shota should be legal … there is nothing wrong …. this is a world that increasingly will require us to understand the young gay, we can not continue like this …. I would have liked since childhood I had been allowed to experiment with my body without rejection of society

  59. when drawing or thinking of “a crime” (if it is one) is punished, we’re all doomed, cause then, they’ll control what we think. its okay to control what we do, when killing/harming real people is involved, but everything aside from that is not the societys business. i can understand, that some might feel hurt by that drawings, but whats about all the movies/comics where women get raped? where people get murdered, turtured or whatever? ART is free, and it should remain so.

the much more interesting question might be, why so many people read those mangas! and who reads them! (as youngsters 12-17) read them, its okay to me, and out of any question, but when adults (30-99) read those it gets some weird part (only in my opinion). not that i judge s.o., but that might be a question.

we all must be very cautious what happens next in these issues.

  60. Omg! Hilarious!
I mean it’s cute and all, but “boy sex manga STRAIGHT from Japan” just cracked me up xD
    Straight boy sex xD
My sense of humor is weird :p

  61. I like this type of cartoon – though I had a friend who lived in Winnipeg, Canada whose father discovered his son liked this type of strip cartoon and killed him – which left me without my pen-friend and a hole (or space) where my friend used to be – life can be a bitch sometimes! I cry often now – for all the repressed kids whose parents don’t understand.
