You’re intolerant & a Bully

Well, that’s rich. US house representive Jim Bridenstine took the floor in the House this week calling out “the left” (implying something like this exists in US politics) for their “intolerance” of demanding gay youth to be allowed into the boy scouts. Because, you know, if you want everyone to be treated equal you’re being “intolerant” towards the religious nutjobs. That guy thinks people who aren’t narrow-minded assholes like him are “bullying” (!) the sexual morality out of the Boy Scouts by campaigning for an end to their discriminatory policies. Seriously.

Some of us in America still believe in the concept of sexual morality, that sex is intended for one man and one woman within the institution of marriage. Organizations that hold this philosophy and promote it among our youth should be commended, or at least you would think, tolerated. Unfortunately, the intolerant Left bullies and browbeats private organizations like the Boy Scouts into accepting their philosophy. Notice they didn’t start their own organization. They went after the Boy Scouts of America.

The Left’s agenda is not about tolerance, and it’s not about diversity of thought. It’s about presenting a worldview of relativism, where there is no right and wrong. Then using the full force of the government to silence opposition and reshape organizations like the Boy Scouts into instruments for social change. To my friends on the Left, this is not tolerance. but here’s the good news about true tolerance. the most tolerant one of all has the ability to redeem us all.

He is only 12 years old, but Vlogger Theo Chen‘s rant against bullies has struck a major chord online, going viral with over 80,000 views in just a day. The video, titled "Gay", sees the opinionated student telling off anonymous posters who leave abusive and vulgar messages on his YouTube videos. In the video, Theo shares his feelings over getting bullied both online and in school by school mates who call him a ‘fag’ or ‘gay’ because he dances in his videos.

No stranger to controversial subject matter director Xavier Dolan’s work is always fierce and distinguished. And with his new music video for Indochine’s College Boy he’s causing a stir in France. The black-and-white video stars actor Antoine Pilon as a high-schooler bullied by his classmates. The video takes us from his tortured time in the classroom to his life at home where he acts out his more violent impulses in the comfort of his bedroom. Again we see him back in school where his peers continue to taunt him, beat him up, and urinate on his face—culminating in his being crucified and shot at in the school yard.

Dolan and Indochine are using these heavy images to make a strong statement about bullying and they seem to be more specifically making a point about homophobic bullying. However, French TV has already censored the video and it’s caused an outcry amongst other channels as well. Speaking to Le Figaro, Dolan responded to the video saying, "It seems absurd to me that the clip is censored. Is it really more violent than all the movies that arrive on our screens every day? The question shouldn’t be – did I go too far? It should be – what’s stopping a group of teenagers from going this far, given how powerful the gun lobby is in the U.S."
