Thanks to films like Song Huang’s 轻触(Touch) – which was inspired by a friend of the director’s, who lost her eyesight – we are able to get a much better understanding of what that experience must be like, as we’re placed side-by-side with its sightless protagonist as he struggles with his identity and searches for love.
